about

This giant song is, in fact about Joseph's cat, Parmesan. A stray that was Joseph rescued at the age of 5 weeks. Parmesan [or "Parms"] was completely blind and infested with parasites when he was taken in and the vets did not give him very long to live, but sometimes all someone needs is a little love and patience. Parms is now 2 years old, very large, and strong.

This song is the story of Parmesan and the fight he and both Joseph [who's health became un manageable due to complications from Crohn's Disease] fighting to get back on their feet/paws and about the bond that grew.

This track contains samples taken from home videos of Parms that were shot from the day he was brought in through early April of 2016.

lyrics

STAMPEDE (Ode To Parmesan)

You bring me light
You give me solace
You bring peace
You give me Life

You give me light
You bring me Solace
You bring peace
You give me life
Still bringing me life
Born into the cold
Darkness surround as the blindness folds
Never were you told that the world can be so shallow

Betrayed by your own blood
and left to die in the middle of the road
How could a mother be so cold?

So you cried out hoping someone would hear
but she walked away with a conscience so free and clear
So I pulled myself up to keep you safe from fear

Lying in bed just a step away from dying
No one there just enemies contriving.
Couldn't imagine this but I refused to leave you writhing.
You grabbed me with your paw and I knew that together we could fight this.
No hand to hold.
No hope foretold.
and before we met there was never any chance of either of us surviving
You couldn't see
and I couldn't breathe
and before we met there was never a chance of either of us surviving

No hand to hold
No hand to hold

Ran out to bring you in even though I could barely stand
Made this your home, fed you and tucked you in
Spent my last penny to make sure you have a life

THOSE PARASITES LIVE TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE DEAD

I'll give it all for you

You bring me light
You bring peace
You give me solace
You bring life

You give me light
You bring me peace
You give me solace
You bring me life

Made sure your health would rebound
then i fell straight into decay
It seems like a lifetime just drifted away...

600 days you stayed by my side and made sure I'd wake
You stayed by me when everyone else was just too busy to care

A hand to hold
A paw to hold

The world around
they always try to take things away
they always try to take things away

Seems like they always try to take things away, but that's not like you
You give all you can give even when it's too hard to live

I wish i could look into your eyes and know that everything will be alright

All the days that I can't walk
and all the nights that I can't sleep
It's always you
it's always you that brings me back to my feet

Every day when I wake up I pray for more years by your side
I am always thankful for you
for you

I'll give it all for you
I give it all for you
I'll give it all

You bring me light
You give me solace
You bring peace
You give me Life

You give me light
You bring me Solace

You give me light

I promise to give you everything
give you everything
I'll give you everything I have.

I'll give you everything
