The Sound Of One Man's World Collapsing

Fire Medic Dave Amazing band that mixes some great prog elements with emotions not normally scene in a lot of prog metal. There is a good atmosphere to this album. You can tell that Joseph Spiller was going through some rough times when he wrote this album. You certainly get the sense of someone sitting in a room looking through old pictures and trying to deal with life. Bands like Opeth and Type O Negative were able to successfully inject their emotions into metal. Caricature has done the same. Favorite track: A Long Term Illness.

Behold the second coming of nothing this is the end of hope, of dreams, and of your life seems like you can't get over all this condemnation and everyday you arise to be faced by more frustration take this as a sign NO SALVATION, NO CHANCE FOR DREAMS FULFILLED ABANDON ALL HOPE another crushing dawn of emptiness there's no peace, there's no love, there's no place to call home is this what you worked for? is this what you need or has everything simply turned to ash in the age of void? NO SALVATION, NO CHANCE FOR DREAMS FULFILLED ABANDON ALL HOPE (solo by greg macklin) NO SALVATION, NO CHANCE FOR DREAMS FULFILLED ABANDON ALL HOPE THE WAITING ENDS THE END BEGINS LOOK TO THE SKY, LOOK INTO THE ABYSS this is the sound of the ocean's last wave just before it breaks can you tell me what it takes to rebuild, to retake or is this just a waste of our time?

I sit in the corner of a room without the lights on withering away more and more every day can anybody hear me? can anybody see me? or am I just a ghost? for years I've been withering away in a strange and foreign place my body's deteriorating and all the people around me don't seem to make much sense this disconnection surely is a poor reflection of who I am I'm nothing like I once was THIS IS THE SOUND OF MY WORLD COLLAPSING I WANT IT TO BREAK ME DOWN I WATCHED IT FALL WATCHED IT CRUMBLE AGAIN AND AGAIN DISMANTLE ME Two decades and counting I've been plagued with this and now i need it to be over This isolation is my declaration I've given up on trust given up on the world I'm nothing like i once was. . . THIS IS THE SOUND OF MY WORLD COLLAPSING I WANT IT TO BREAK ME DOWN I WATCHED IT FALL WATCHED IT CRUMBLE AGAIN AND AGAIN in another place. . . at a another time. . . maybe I wouldn't have to let my clock run down THIS IS THE SOUND OF MY WORLD COLLAPSING I WATCHED IT FALL, WATCHED IT CRUMBLE AGAIN AND AGAIN again and again. . .

deep within the darkest recesses of my mind there rests the body of a lie (no light) when rest is restless, how long before there is nothing left of I so i try to stay awake so that these dreams can’t hold RISING THROUGH THE GROUND PEEL MY EYES AWAKE AWAY FROM EVERYTHING I CAN’T ESCAPE DREAMS BECOMING REAL NIGHTMARES I CAN FEEL TONIGHT constantly reliving every part so unforgiving thought, memory, premoniotion my head spins in fear of what is born by sleep ludid, i still see pieces float around remnants strewn, they’ve found me unmended trapped where darkness bleeds into the light i lie awake, with conflict i can’t shake tears through my life until i break i break
5.
Hearing the voice of your voice crack . . . You know it deafens me? I know everything is a bit too much right so i need you to focus on me Listen Sweetheart . . . Stay calm and breathe, you'll see what it feels like to live in this sea of light with me we'll be burning damnation down So what if the world isn't what we wanted it to be? we can turn our backs on them and make our own. Tell me that you wanted it tell me that you need it to then we can make it together, just me and you tonight the night feels so cold so let me light the match and keep your eyes on the road Stay calm and breathe, you'll see what it feels like to live in this sea of light with me we'll be burning damnation down

well i said “Damn, it’s not the sabbath but your mary’s hailed high do i see bloody crocodile tears running flom blind eyes?” like a non-starter, self appointed martyr two bit prick drenched in belile you’ll serve us shit with a smile STAND DOWN, YOU’RE NO SAVIOR YOU CALL ON OUR FAILURES TO BURY YOUR OWN WE NEVER ASKED TO BE SAVED stand up and show me your fix now i may be a man of many words Oh. but i would never try to summon derelict herds from the start watch the broken applaud numbing their senses as much as “johnny law” will allot STAND DOWN, YOU’RE NO SAVIOR YOU CALL ON OUR FAILURES TO BURY YOUR OWN YOU LEAD US INTO THE GROUND stand down, you’re no savior savior? STAND DOWN, YOU’RE NO SAVIOR YOU CALL ON OUR FAILURES TO BURY YOUR OWN WE NEVER ASKED FOR YOU savior, we never needed a prophet you are the last we would follow we’re fine on our own

Letter To H 04:17
I'm writing you 'cause i lost my way I know I've failed since you've been gone, I've fallen pray to my old self destructive ways I guess I've wandered so damn far from the place that you helped me grow that I forgot what it's like to have a place called home. . . I should have heeded every word you spoke to me but back then . . . my mind was gone I guess nothing's change I think it's killing me And I wonder if you'll hear this from wherever they took you to And will you remember me? 'cause I never want to forget you I can't seem to get back up without you. . . but I will hold your picture close, dust off my clothes and try to find my way

Sent back and doom to rot in the last place i ever hoped to be surrounded by everyone and everything that I prayed to forget These are the the roads that broke me these are the scars that a war at home make Sink down into the past and hope the weather clears up so I can leave this land Through sore eyes Visions blurs and obscures through a cracked lense here lies the bonds that shake me and leaves me with the memories that wont escape me Colors escape from crack within the clouds the storm takes me away and leaves me feeling listless as im blown astray Pigment leaves the sky and the only thing thats left is a monochrome design Spelled out in rain All the colors drain there's only grey And now nothing remains and the only thing to do is sit around and reflect I've been afraid to show that the only solution for me is to go This is the reason that I don't believe in anything THe world degrades as people stare at tv screen pallets turn to black and white again they compromise until they;re left with Everything is failing torn apart if everyone is comitted to failure then count me out Colors escape from crack within the clouds the storm takes me away and leaves me feeling listless as im blown astray Pigment leaves the sky and the only thing thats left is a monochrome design Spelled out in rain All the colors drain there's only grey the storm clouds grow. . . Colors escape from crack within the clouds Pigment leaves the sky and the only thing thats left is a monochrome design Move in and blow me away. . .

hello, hello this is such an expected turn of events you traded your dreams away in favor of such useless poison yeah, you promised this would be the last time... until you asked for more YOU DEFILED THESE SACRED LANDS AND THEN YOU SEEK TO DESTROY MORE? YOU DESTROY YOURSELF YOU DEFILED THESE SACRED LANDS UNTIL THERE"S NOTHING LEFT YOUR TIME IS NOTHING BUT WASTE I wish that I could say this it's nice to see you here this isn't what I wanted for you but you insist you had the answer so tell me of this brilliant master plan does it involve you at the corner seeking "change" in your hand? whoa and now you expect to be saved from yourself? YOU DEFILED THESE SACRED LANDS AND GAVE UP TOMORROW YOU DEFILED YOURSELF YOU DEFILED THESE SACRED LANDS AND THEN YOU BEG FORGIVENESS YOU DEFILED YOURSELF
